Attunity & Qlik Enabling DataOps (Part 1)

Delivering Real-time Analytics with Agility Across the Enterprise

Attunity & Qlik Enabling DataOps (Part 1)

Recently, I had the chance to sit down with Dana Gardner – the principal analyst at Interarbor Solutions and discuss the growing role of data integration in a multi-cloud world. We also had a chance to talk about some of the latest strategies around uniting and governing data from anywhere, and allowing businesses to gain actionable insights instantaneously and embark on new ways to augment intelligence in a more collaborative way.

Increasingly enough, business trends are forcing a new approach to data integration and it’s all being driven by analytics. The analytics world has gone through some very interesting phases of late: Internet of Things (IoT), streaming data from operational systems, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), predictive and preventative kinds of analytics, and real-time streaming analytics. All of this has changed the way in which data is being stored and managed for analytics. Things like cloud data warehouses, data lakes, streaming infrastructure are all responses to the business demand for a new style of analytics.

As analytics drives data management changes, the way in which the data is being integrated and moved needs to change as well. Traditional approaches are being left behind in favor of more agile and real-time integrations that are driven by movements to the cloud and the need to move more data in greater volume, and in greater variety, into data lakes, and making it analytics-ready. All of these movements have attributed to new challenges and new technologies. With the pace of innovation accelerating and the challenges growing, the demand for digital transformation and the move to the cloud has changed the landscape dramatically. With many different forms of data and multitudes of technologies in place to transform it, it’s difficult for organizations to maintain the skills set to address data integration. Organizations should be focused on deriving insights from data, as opposed to being focused on data integration.

With Attunity becoming a division of Qlik, we are addressing this very problem. With automated data migration and integration, we are an essential component for DataOps. We are accelerating speed and delivery of analytics-ready data – furthering responsiveness to business changes, and bringing together additional datasets, and prepare that data in different ways and in different formats so it can be consumed with different analytics technologies. Organizations utilize multiple cloud environments for a multitude of reasons, but they should also be focused on modernizing data integration approaches. With Attunity we are creating data streams from systems like mainframes, SAP applications, and RDBs. Although these systems aren’t built to stream data, we stream-enable data and allow it to be consumed across the enterprise in real-time. Furthermore, with the combination of Qlik Data Catalyst, we are building a modern data integration technology to solve these analytics challenges by allowing organizations to move data in real-time, catalog their data and make it available to users so they can discover and govern that data.

You can listen to Dana and I expand more on this topic and much more here.
