Make Your Data Dance

Make Your Data Dance

Last month we held our ‘Make Your Data Dance’ Virtual Forum where we brought together a group of Qlik experts alongside data and analytics experts to enable anyone who works with data embrace the third generation of BI and help them lead across their organization’s entire data cycle.

Data never stands still, instead it’s growing at an unprecedented pace. With this virtual forum, we shared with attendees essential tips to help them unlock game changing data and provide a framework to rethink their entire data journey – from data to analytics to insights. Our panelists also discussed ways in which we are powering the next wave of analytics adoption with Augmented Intelligence and improve data literacy in organizations.

Below are some webinar Q&A highlights:

Q: How is Qlik’s AI going to help organizations?

A: Qlik believes that the more effective way of turning raw data into insights is by combining intelligent algorithms with human interaction. Building on Qlik’s Associative technology, human-machine interfaces must be harmonized, and cognitive machine learning can be applied to holistic data views to accelerate and deepen insights. Q: How do you build about a data driven culture in a company that has solid foundations in reporting but is still relatively new to leveraging advanced analytics?

A: We recommend starting the journey with a Skills Assessment, which is a free self-service survey designed to quickly assess individual data literacy skills prior to taking training. Upon completing the test, individuals receive a prescriptive training roadmap recommending appropriate options for their skill level. Visit The Data Literacy Project for more information.

Q: Quite often users spend time cleaning data as there are quite often mistakes that will then impact the data, how you can tackle this issue?

A: Cleansing data is mainly a result of human error. The best way to avoid human error in entering data is to have proper procedures in place for everybody that is responsible for entering data. Qlik can help on another level: with the associative engine, we can filter data in such a way that abnormalities are discovered. When these are discovered, you can focus on these instead of manually going through all the data.

Q: Should companies massively invest (top-down approach) to achieve their digitalization with success? Or is it something that would happen step by step, coming from the users?

A: In any big process we need to have a big commitment from the top. Managing the process to change the approach to cover the digital transformation need to come from the top management. Organizations need to have more curious people that need to understand and use data to find the right strategy.
